Welcome to Sporting Scene

Next Issue..............February 4th, 2012

Deadline...................January 23rd, 2012

Sporting Scene is now in its' 32nd year of publishing. Established in 1980, we first began publishing in October, 1980 as Scarborough Hockey News. Three years later the name was changed to Sporting Scene in order to accommodate all the different sporting groups that requested we include them in our publication.

Although our content seems to be predominately hockey oriented, we do encourage and accept all forms of amateur sports. All articles are submitted by our readers and are published free of charge. It is not necessary for your team to be winners of anything in order to be published in Sporting Scene. Simply send in an article and we will publish it free of charge. We hope that by seeing their picture and article in Sporting Scene the participants will be more encouraged to remain in their chosen sport, thereby making them better citizens as they mature.

Sporting Scene is distributed to over 140 arenas, sporting goods stores and retailers as well as over 80 libraries in the GTA, and as far west as Burlington, north to Aurora and Newmarket and as far east as Oshawa.

Appearing below is an article that appeared in the Scarborough Mirror in 1982
